Many European and non-European investors are looking to invest and settle in Spain, and more specifically on the Costa Brava? Some are attracted by the quality of life offered by the region, others are looking to travel freely, to have a pleasant pied-à-terre, and still others are already looking for a place to spend their vacations.
But it's above all non-residents of Europe who can benefit from a very interesting alternative with the Golden Visa. But what is this option? What does it actually offer in terms of investment?
Discover Golden Visa
The Golden Visa is obtained by investing in property in Spain.
This is a kind of residence visa granted to people who do not live in Europe but wish to settle there or move freely within the continent.
Foreign investors can now take advantage of a law approved by the Spanish government called Golden Visa.
Spanish Golden Visa requirements
When they invest a minimum of 500,000 euros in real estate in Spain - and particularly on the Costa Brava for its incredible quality of life - they are granted a residence permit.
According to the legislation itself (art. 63), "residence is granted to the family in the vicinity and dependent on the purchaser, either spouses or minor children".
The Golden Visa can also be issued by depositing one million euros in a bank account opened in Spain.
Measures for granting Golden Visas in Spain
- In addition to the buyer and minor children, cohabitants, adult children and dependent ascendants are now also eligible for this unique visa.
- Issuance of a short-term visa, valid for 6 months, starting from an investment of 500,000 euros.
- Possibility of establishing residence during administrative procedures.
- A longer Golden Visa is possible, renewable every 5 years rather than every 2 years as at present.
- Simplified procedures: visa applications can be made from within Spain.
Once you've held your Golden Visa for 5 years, you can apply for permanent residence in Spain.
Here's an excellent way to attract as many foreign investors as possible with substantial financial capacity, and so relieve the country's real estate market.
Spain, and the Costa Brava in particular, are great places to live. The region is renowned not only for its quality of life, but also for themany investment opportunities still available in Spain.
